Two former detainees were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Taytay, Rizal. Police had been monitoring a suspect, known as “Mike,” for several weeks before he was caught selling illegal drugs on the streets of Barangay Dolores. Another man, alias “Mark,” was apprehended during the operation as he attempted to purchase drugs from Mike.
Both suspects have prior drug-related convictions; Mike was previously jailed in 2022 and released in 2023, while Mark was detained in 2020. Authorities confiscated eight sachets of suspected shabu, valued at approximately ₱170,000.
Mike admitted to buying and selling drugs, citing financial pressures and the need to support his family. Mark, however, claimed the drugs were solely for personal use. The two suspects are now held at the Taytay police facility and face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
