Anthony Pangilinan is recovering from heart surgery following a “torrentially severe leak” in one of his heart valves, as revealed by his wife, actress Maricel Laxa, during an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” Laxa shared that Anthony has resumed light activities, such as walking, two weeks after his three-week hospital stay. The couple initially kept the situation private to allow their family time to process and heal.
Anthony described the surgery, which took 12 hours instead of the expected three to five, as an intense experience. He credited his heart’s resilience to his running habit. Despite the challenges, Anthony expressed gratitude for his recovery journey, while his son, actor Donny Pangilinan, expressed optimism for his father’s return to full strength.
