Nadia Montenegro Joins Philippine Navy as Reservist

Veteran actress Nadia Montenegro has officially joined the ranks of the Philippine Navy as a reservist.

In an Instagram Story on Tuesday, Nadia’s daughter, Ynna Asistio, shared a photo from her mother’s graduation ceremony, marking the completion of a 30-day training course. The image captured Nadia giving a hand salute to Senator Robin Padilla, the guest of honor at the event.

“Congratulations mom,” Ynna wrote in her post.

Nadia also shared a selfie in her Navy uniform, proudly displaying her Certificate of Completion. She was one of 48 individuals who successfully completed the Basic Citizen Military Course, becoming official reservists in a ceremony held on Tuesday.

The Philippine Navy Reserve Force consists of civilians who volunteer to supplement the regular Navy during times of war, national emergencies, or other needs. These reservists undergo training to prepare for roles in naval warfare, maritime security, disaster response, and humanitarian assistance.

Nadia joins a list of celebrities who have dedicated their services as military reservists, including Dingdong Dantes, Rocco Nacino, Matteo Guidicelli, and Michelle Dee.

Born Nadine Marie Inez Montenegro Pla, Nadia is a mother of eight, including actresses Ynna and Yana Asistio.
