Phnom Penh, Cambodia — Filipino boxer Carlo Paalam is on the verge of securing a berth at the Paris Olympics after a decisive victory over the Dominican Republic’s Feliz Jose Luis De Los Santos in the quarterfinals of the 2nd World Boxing Qualification Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand.

Paalam impressed the judges with his performance, earning higher scores across the board in his quarterfinal match against De Los Santos. With this win, he advances to the semifinals, where he will face India’s Sachin Sachin on Saturday. The top three boxers from the men’s 57 kg division will qualify for the Paris Olympics.
