Daughter of Farmer Tops PMA Class of 2024, Six Other Women Join Her in Top 10

In a historic achievement for the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), Cadet First Class Jeneth Elumba, a farmer’s daughter, has emerged as the valedictorian of the Bagong Sinag Class of 2024. This year’s graduating class witnessed an exceptional representation of female cadets, with six additional women securing positions in the top ten.

Jeneth Elumba, a 24-year-old from Surigao del Norte, graduated magna cum laude and is set to join the Philippine Army. Elumba’s mother, a barangay official and an alumna of UP Tacloban College, has been a significant influence in her life.

The other top-performing women include Cyril Joy Masculino, who secured the fourth place, followed by Rosemel Dogello and Alexa Mye Balen in fifth and sixth places, respectively. Following Elumba closely was Mark Armuel Boiles, son of a tricycle driver, who ranked second and will join the Philippine Air Force. The third place was taken by Kim Harold Gilo, while Floyd Niño Arthur Roxas, who ranked seventh, will serve in the Philippine Navy. The majority of the top ten cadets are set to join the Philippine Army, indicating a strong influx of new leadership in various branches of the military.
