In a sorrowful incident early Sunday morning in Camarines Sur, the driver of a delivery van lost his life immediately following a collision with a passenger bus on the Andaya Highway in the area of Barangay GRS, Ragay. The accident took place around 2:30 a.m., as reported by Peewee Bacuno on Super Radyo dzBB.
The delivery van, on its journey from Bicol to Manila, attempted an overtaking maneuver that disastrously resulted in a collision with an oncoming Manila-bound Elavil Tours bus. The impact severely damaged the van, leading to the instantaneous death of its driver and serious injuries to his assistant. Remarkably, there were no reported injuries among the passengers of the bus.
Authorities have since taken the bus driver into custody as investigations into the circumstances of the accident continue. This tragic event serves as a grave reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and the paramount importance of road safety measures.
