Chinese National Involved in Shootout with Philippine Police

A Chinese individual, targeted for arrest on three outstanding warrants, fiercely resisted and engaged in a shootout and chase with the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group, spanning from Makati to Taguig City. The confrontation culminated in Bonifacio Global City, where police successfully apprehended the suspect inside his vehicle following the exchange of gunfire.

The individual, now under close police watch, was transported to a hospital for treatment. Initially, the PNP-AKG intended to serve arrest warrants in Makati City for charges including deceit, resistance and disobedience to an authority, and unjust vexation. However, the situation escalated when the suspect fired at the officers, triggering a pursuit.

The Taguig City Police were called for backup during the chase, which involved a “running gun battle,” according to Taguig chief of police Police Colonel Robert Baesa. The chase resulted in damage to several vehicles before the suspect was cornered and detained.

The suspect, currently hospitalized, faces serious charges, with the details of his statement yet to be disclosed.
