Strong Group Adjusts Roster for Dubai Basketball Championship Without Mikey Williams

The Strong Group basketball team, preparing for the upcoming 33rd Dubai International Basketball Championship, has decided to move forward without the services of coveted guard Mikey Williams. This decision comes after Williams, initially their top choice for the guard position, did not fulfill his initial agreement with the team.

Strong Group head coach Charles Tiu expressed his disappointment, noting that Williams was one of the first players he reached out to and his number one choice for the point guard position. Despite Williams’ absence, Tiu remains optimistic about the team’s prospects.

Team manager Jacob Lao also expressed frustration, stating that Williams did not honor his word after agreeing initially and failing to show up for practice. This has led the Strong Group to seek other options.

The team’s roster includes players like JD Cagulangan, Jordan Heading, Tony Ynot, and Francis Escandor in the backcourt. They will be joined by reinforcements such as Dwight Howard, Andray Blatche, Mckenzie Moore, and Andre Roberson. This strong lineup aims to improve upon their quarterfinal exit in the previous edition of the tournament.
