Ella Pangilinan, daughter of Maricel Laxa, recently married her non-showbiz fiancé Enrique Miranda in a ceremony where she donned a “revived” wedding gown of her mother. The original wedding dress, crafted by National Artist Pitoy Moreno, was transformed into a terno wedding gown by Rajo Laurel for Pangilinan. Ella expressed her lifelong admiration for the terno, feeling most empowered and beautiful in it. Laurel shared on Instagram the significance of this full-circle moment, recalling how Ella, as a little girl, would accompany her mother to his studio.
The gown, a traditional Filipiniana with a train, featured embellishments from Maricel’s original wedding gown. Laurel performed a full Redor’s run on the embroidery, adding a touch of heritage and continuity to the attire. The backless trumpet gown, adorned with elaborate beadings formed into flowers on the bodice and intricate bead embellishments on the butterfly sleeves, highlighted Ella’s personality. The gown was complemented by a dramatic train and veil, making her appearance utterly sublime on her wedding day.
