Manila, Philippines: The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has announced a significant increase in the coverage of its benefit packages starting in 2024. According to the state health insurer, members can anticipate an up to 30% rise in all coverage case rates next year. This enhancement in benefit packages means Filipinos availing healthcare services through PhilHealth will have reduced out-of-pocket expenses.
The adjustment will apply to both hospitalization and outpatient care, with a particular focus on higher-level services. This move follows PhilHealth’s previous expansions, like increasing dialysis coverage from 90 to 156 sessions and enhancing coverage for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients.
The increase in benefit packages reflects PhilHealth’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and affordability for Filipinos, ensuring broader coverage and financial protection against health-related expenditures.
