She continued to impress the audience with her unique “air walk,” an evolution of her “snake walk” from the national pageant, inspired by her mother Melanie Marquez, Miss International 1979.
The gown, a tribute to her mother, featured 30,000 Swarovski crystals in three shades of emerald green contrasted with black, symbolizing power, wisdom, and transformation. According to Bumgarner, the gown’s design was inspired by Michelle’s personality, reflecting her strength and determination.
Michelle’s diverse talents extend beyond the pageant stage. The hosts highlighted her entrepreneurial spirit, her completion of online courses at Harvard University, and her enjoyment of activities like scuba diving, motocross, and martial arts. These facets of her personality add depth to her candidacy in the competition.
With the national costume portion on November 16 and the coronation event on November 18, Michelle Dee is among 84 delegates vying for the Miss Universe title. She hopes to secure the Philippines’ fifth crown in this prestigious global event.
