Tropical Depression Kabayan Nears the Philippines

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is closely monitoring a low-pressure area, soon to be named Tropical Depression “Kabayan,” as it approaches the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Expected to enter the region by the weekend, the weather system currently poses no direct threat.

However, other weather phenomena like the shear line and northeast monsoon are affecting various regions with rain showers and thunderstorms, impacting Metro Manila, Bicol Region, Luzon, Kalinga, Apayao, and the Ilocos Region​​.
