The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently alerted the public about the health risks associated with eight unregistered food products. These products, which have not undergone the FDA’s evaluation process, include “Konu Cone Snacks Cookies & Cream,” “Zestar Bubblegum with Tattoo,” “Gourmet Healthy Organic White Quinoa,” “Gourmet Healthy Organic Black Chia Seeds,” “Golden Insu Product in Green Packaging With Fruits-Like Image (In Foreign Language),” “Sioan Gintong Araw Koffee Maize (Roasted White Corn With Mangosteen And Moringa Powder),” “Big Boy Chow Special Pancit Canton Chinese Style,” and “Lee Super Plaza Himalayan Pink Salt.”
The FDA’s online monitoring and post-marketing surveillance revealed that these products lack the necessary registration and Certificate of Product Registration (CPR), making them potentially unsafe. Under Republic Act No. 9711, also known as the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009, the distribution of health products without proper authorization is illegal.
The FDA emphasizes that without their evaluation, the quality and safety of these products cannot be assured. Additionally, the FDA advises all establishments to refrain from distributing, advertising, or selling these products until they have obtained the required Product Notification Certificate.
