FPJ Panday Bayanihan, Ang Liga 19th Season Concludes with Adamson Victory

The 19th season of Ang Liga, one of the Philippines’ most prestigious football leagues, reached a thrilling finale on November 4, 2023, with the support of FPJ Panday Bayanihan. The championship featured a  showdown between two football powerhouses, Adamson University and Ateneo De Manila University. Adamson secured a 2-0 victory, firmly establishing themselves as the country’s premier football institution.

Numerous talented teams joined this season, including Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, College of San Beda, University of Santo Tomas, Far Eastern University, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, University of the Philippines, University of the East, and Adamson University, all competing fiercely to claim the title. Despite strong competition from defending champions De La Salle University, it was Adamson University that emerged victorious.

The 19th season of Ang Liga reached a new milestone as it ventured into live streaming for the very first time. This monumental shift was made possible through the invaluable support of the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Foundation, Pantheon Holdings, and Smart Sports. Moreover, the league not only displayed football talent but also witnessed an unparalleled surge in viewership, amassing an impressive total of 612,819 views for its Season 19 matches.

Another significant highlight of the season was the active involvement of Brian Poe Llamanzares, the Chairman of FPJ Panday Bayanihan, as one of the primary sponsors of Ang Liga. Brian’s passionate support greatly contributed to the tournament’s success and growth.

Reflecting on the league’s achievement, Brian expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are very proud to see how successful Ang Liga season 19 has been! This has been the most well-attended and most-watched season the league has ever had with close to 600,000 views online! We’re looking forward to growing the league even more thanks to our sponsors and supporters! Congratulations to all the teams that participated in this fantastic season. Karl Tan, the Director of Operations for Ang Liga, also shared his reflections on the season, stating, “This season, Ang Liga was brought to a different level. Having been able to play in this tournament in 2003, I can say that the participants are very lucky to have been given this platform.
