MANILA, Philippines — Exciting news for motorists and commuters!
The five-kilometer Caloocan-España segment of the NLEX Connector, a new expressway that links Caloocan and Manila, will open to the public today, March 29.
President J. Luigi Bautista of the NLEX Corporation stated that the five-kilometer segment will be free of tolls for a limited time, allowing motorists to experience the convenience of using the new route.
The launch of this line is intended to shorten travel time between Caloocan and Manila to just five minutes, down from the previous 30-minute ride.
The expressway will have a speed limit of 60 kph for trucks, while cars, SUVs, buses, and motorcycles with a displacement of 400cc or more will have a speed limit of 80 kph.
The new expressway is expected to ease traffic along major roads such as España Boulevard, Abad Santos Avenue, Rizal Avenue, and Lacson Avenue and provide access to key areas, including the University Belt.
Soon, NLEX Corporation will notify motorists when it will start charging tolls for this new route.
