After 31 years of tugging at Filipino people’s heartstrings, Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) will conclude this December. MMK, hosted by Charo Santos-Concio since it aired in 1991, is Asia’s longest running drama anthology.

MMK aired dramatized versions of real-life stories shared by people who sent their letters to the program. The program’s success expanded to a movie, a radio drama, and a comic book adaptation.

Santos-Concio also became a household name, alongside each story’s opening line, “Dear Charo.” Her hosting style which is calm and empathetic inspired parodies which Santos-Concio received in good nature.

Santos-Concio shared a farewell message thanking everyone that’s been a part of MMK for the last 31 years.

Santos-Concio also said that given the opportunity to relive everything again, she will not hesitate about being the drama anthology’s host again.

Maalaala Mo Kaya will air a three-part special until it’s last day of airing on December 10.
