MANILA, Philippines — While President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is away for his back-to-back state visits to Indonesia and Singapore, Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio has been designated as the officer-in-charge of the Philippine government.

Malacañang tasked Duterte-Carpio by temporarily “taking care of the day-to-day operations of the Office of the President and overseeing the general administration of the Executive Department” from September 4 to September 7.

This order was issued as part of Special Order No. 75 on Sunday. This is to “ensure the continuity of government services” while the President is out of the country.

Marcos has instructed all departments, agencies, and government instrumentalities to his deputy in the discharge of her functions.

Moreover, Marcos has given his deputy instructions to carry out her duties, which have been given to all of the departments, agencies, and government instrumentalities.

“All acts of the Vice President for and on behalf of the President pursuant to this Order shall be deemed acts of the President unless disapproved and reprobated by the President.”
