During her unexpected attendance to this year’s VMAs, Taylor Swift took center-stage and announced her brand new album.

The singer-songwriter dropped the surprise during her acceptance speech for Video of the Year for ‘All Too Well.” “I had sort of made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand-new album comes out October 21st,” she said.

Through posts across her social media accounts, Swift revealed Midnights as the title of the upcoming album and it contains 13 tracks. She wrote, “Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out Oct. 21. Meet me at midnight.”

Midnights marks Swift’s new album since 2020 when she released folklore and evermore. She released her re-recorded albums Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) last 2021, as well as the song ‘Carolina’ for the Where the Crawdads Sing movie this year.
