MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Jesus Remula has appointed Assistant Director Medardo G. De Lemos as the officer-in-charge of the National Bureau of Investigation until the end of July.
In the Department Order issued last July 1, Remulla said that De Lemos must perform the duties and responsibilities until July 31 or until a replacement has been appointed.
De Lemos is NBI’s most senior officer and he has been a part of the bureau for 37 years. He replaced Senior Deputy Director Eric B. Distor as NBI OIC.
De Lamos’ notable contributions to NBI includes authoring policies on the use of deadly force during operations. He is also a lecturer at the Philippine Judicial Academy where he teaches about the use of deadly force in the security training for Judges.
