You may have come across one of his viral TikTok videos while scrolling through your newsfeed, or you may have wondered why there’s a crowd of people gathering around while you are strolling along Session Road in Baguio City.

Meet ‘Green Soldier’, the man who has been trending on social media nowadays as he spreads good vibes among locals and tourists in the City of Pines.
People can be seen flocking around him while having a good laugh, as the artist exchanges some light-hearted banter with the audience (made funnier by his tiny squeaky voice) and strikes silly poses with them.
Jhonwel L. Reyes, the man behind Green Soldier’s character, has worked as a construction worker, janitor, pedicab driver and service crew before becoming a street mime performer.
Reyes said in his interview with Oscar Oida on GMA’s 24 Oras that all these hardships made him a stronger person.
As for those who have a talent in comedy and aspire to be a street mime performer like him, Reyes had this to say during his interview with All About Wheels Manila:
“Kung gusto niyo po talagang maging mime, sana i-aim po natin iyong goal na makapagbigay saya sa maraming tao, hindi po iyong i-aim natin iyong pagiging mime para lang kumita, kasi ang pinaka-importante sa trabaho na ‘to ay iyong ligaya na maibibigay natin sa kapwa at saka iyong sigla ng buhay na maibabahagi natin na mayroon tayo sa ating pagkatao.”
(Translation: If you really want to be a mime, I hope that your goal would be to give happiness to a lot of people, not merely to gain income, because the most important aspect of this job is the happiness that you are able to give others and the joy of life you are able to impart that comes from your own being.)
With the fame and better fortune he is now experiencing, Reyes wants his success to be shared with others further, as he trains future street mime artists.
