Tulfo and Legarda Top Pulse Asia Survey for Senator

MANILA, Philippines — A Pulse Asia Survey conducted last April 16-21 released their results on Monday. More than half of the senatorial preferences are former or incumbent legislators. 

Antique Representative Loren Legarda (49.4%) and broadcast journalist Raffy Tulfo (50.4%) earned the top spot in the results.

Actor Robin Padilla received 42.9% while Taguig City-Pateros Representative Alan Cayetano has 42.3% of the voters’ preference. This puts them in third to fourth and third to fifth places respectively. 

Former senator Chiz Escudero received 38.6% which garnered him a ranking of fourth to eighth. 

Reelectionists Sherwin Gatchalian and Juan Miguel Zubiri both received 37% which marks them at fifth to ninth place. 

Mark Villar, former Public Works and Highway chief, was backed by 35.9% of likely voters. He is ranked from fifth to 12th place. 

Former Senator JV Estrada Ejercito is at sixth to 12th place with 34.3% of potential voters. 

Reelectionist Risa Hontiveros, former VP Jejomar Binay, and former Senator Jinggoy Estrada share the eight to 12th place.

Out of the survey respondents, 41% of the voters have completed their senatorial slate for the upcoming May 9 elections. 2.8% of likely voters did not show support to any of the senatorial candidates.
