Ryan Gosling to Star as Ken
LAS VEGAS, USA — Warner Bros. released on Tuesday the first-look photo of Margot Robbie as Barbie during the CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas.
The Barbie movie, directed by Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird, 2017; Little Women, 2019), is set to hit US cinemas on July 21, 2023.
In the photo, Robbie can be seen smiling radiantly while riding a pink Chevrolet Corvette, donning a blue and white polka dot hairband wrapped around her platinum blonde hair.
Ryan Gosling will be joining Robbie’s fantastic life in plastic as Barbie’s longtime boyfriend Ken.
Other confirmed cast members of the film include Will Ferrell, Michael Cera, Issa Rae, America Ferrera and Simu Liu.
The film’s production already started in London in January 2022.
One of the movie’s producers, Mattel – an American multinational toy manufacturing and entertainment company, has other movie projects laid out based on popular toys such as Barney, Polly Pocket and Hot Wheels.
