MANILA, Philippines— It is a beautiful week for Pinoy pageant fans, as Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu arrived in the Philippines prior to Miss Universe Philippines 2022 preliminary competition and coronation night.
The Beauty Queen earlier posted her short video clip on her Instagram wearing a pink tropical dress with the caption, “Countdown begins, Philippines. See you soon. Humanda ka Pilipinas [Be ready Philippines].”
On Sunday, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Mayor Luis “Chavit” Singson welcomed Sandhu from her homeland India using his private plane Air Beauty One.
Before taking on her role as the coronation jury on April 30 at Mall of Asia Arena, Sandhu mentioned that she is also here with Plan International “to talk about menstrual equity.”
“I am really excited to announce something which is very close to my heart and to take this talk forward from India to the Philippines.”

The Indian beauty queen, on Monday, April 25, meets with youth advocates during the ‘Period Pains: Tackling the Challenges of Menstrual Equity’ at the Citadines Bay City Manila in Pasay City. Sandhu shared her journey towards ending the period poverty where she also learned about the youth’s experience as change-makers in their society.
Aside from Sandhu, fans are also excited to see other former Miss Universe winners, including Pia Wurtzbach, Iris Mittenaere, and Demi Leigh-Tebow in Miss Universe Philippines’ stage.
