KC Concepcion has replaced Toni Gonzaga as the lead actress in Jhett Tolentino’s romantic comedy movie Asian Persuasion.
According to Variety, KC replaced the controversial host who reportedly left due to schedule conflicts.
KC confirmed the news through an Instagram post sharing that they had just finished the third day of filming. She captioned her post with, “Grateful to be part of this Asian-American project, with our amazing cast and crew.”
The cast includes Fil-Am Hollywood actor Dante Basco, Kevin Kreider, Paolo Montalban, Scarlett Sher, Celia Au, Geneva Carr and Jax Bacani.
Yam Concepcion, Tony Labrusca, Apl.de.Ap, and Rachel Alejandro are featured in the film among others.
Asian Persuasion follows the story of a newly divorced chef who plans to get out of paying alimony by creating a scheme to get his ex-wife remarried. Later in the film he realizes he wants a second chance with his ex.
The film is expected to be released in 2023.
