MANILA, Philippines — In a latest survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS), 40% of Filipinos said that their quality of life has become worse.
The survey was conducted from December 12-16 of the previous year. Results showed that 24% of the 1,440 respondents said that they felt their living conditions improve. 36% of the respondents shared that theirs remain the same from a year ago.
SWS refers to the 40% whose lives worsened as “losers,” while the 24% are labeled as the “gainers.”
The net gainer score – the percent of gainers minus losers – is -16 percent which is cataloged as mediocre. This is 28 points higher from the survey results taken last September 2021.
SWS attributed this rise to health and economic improvements especially in Metro Manila and Mindanao.
