MANILA, Philippines – 50 percent capacity for limited face-to-face classes in all degree programs in areas under Alert Level 2 will be allowed as announced by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Friday, Nov. 5, 2021.

CHED chair Prospero De Vera clarifies that the Schools, institutions, and universities will only be permitted to reopen classes in other degree programs if they write an intent letter to CHED, retrofit their facilities, and fast-track vaccination of students and school personnel.

De Vera also mentioned that the guidelines on limited face-to-face classes will be released next week. Over one million college students or 30% of the 3 million college student population in the country have been vaccinated nationwide as of Oct. 25, De Vera said.

He also called on the public to get vaccinated as this gives the government more options to pen classes and bring students back to schools.

De Vera also said that the parents of students may also be vaccinated, along with their children, and asked the universities “to be more active in educating students and parents” on the benefits of getting vaccinated.
