MANILA, Philippines — Could Manila Mayor Isko Moreno be the Philippines’ next president? A survey revealed that more than 25% of voters would select his name on the ballot. This shows that Isko Moreno is currently leading the poll on 2022 presidential bets.
The RP Mission and Development or RPMD conducted a survey in October. They found that Moreno was ahead of the presidential race with 25.39% of a total of 10,000 respondents, saying he is their preferred candidate.
He is followed by former senator Bongbong Marcos (23.1%), Vice President Leni Robredo (18.31%), and Senator Manny Pacquiao (17.88%). The other 11.3% was shared by Senators Ping Lacson and Ronald dela Rosa, and former presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella.
The remaining 4.02% of the respondents either refused to answer or were undecided. The survey was conducted between October 17-26.
Moreno led Metro Manila where he secured 30.53% of the voters, followed by Marcos who got 28%. The Manila mayor also topped Visayas as 24.63% of respondents cited him as their preferred presidential candidate.
Moreno ranked second in balance Luzon with 25.84% against Marcos’ 30.33% and in Mindanao with 22.7%, closely behind Pacquiao’s 24.63%.
In September, a non-commissioned survey was also conducted by DigiVoice. It found that the three presidential candidates, Former Senator Bongbong Marcos, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, were statistically ‘tied’ on the survey, leaving Moreno slightly leading.
DigiVoice conducted from September 9 to 13 to 1000 randomly selected respondents using a digital mobile app reveals that Vice President Leni Robredo, Representative Alan Cayetano, and Senator Panfilo Lacson were placed in the 6th rank.
Moreno has the highest number of second voters and the most preferred second choice of Robredo, Cayetano, Lacson, Poe, and Pacquiao voters.
