SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Elderlies residing in coastal areas of this province were vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) right at their doorsteps on Friday.
On board motorized boats, Gov. Dennis Pineda personally led the vaccination team in going to Barangays Mabuanbuan, Malusak, Sebitanan, Batang 1st, and Batang 2nd in Sasmuan town to conduct the inoculation activity.
Pineda said one of the main objectives of the provincial government is to provide accessibility and convenience to the senior citizens in getting their vaccines in order to be protected against Covid-19, especially those living in the coastal communities.
Joining the governor in this first-of-its-kind vaccination rollout were Provincial Health Office OIC Dr. Zenon Ponce; Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital chief Dr. Fleur Zapanta; incident commander for vaccination rollout Dr. Dax Tidula, central command deputy for vaccination rollout Malu Lacson; provincial disaster risk reduction and management officer Angelina Blanco; and Lubao Mayor Esmeralda Pineda.
The team also distributed food packages to those who were vaccinated and other residents.
Pineda said the boat-borne vaccine rollout will also be conducted next week for senior citizens in the coastal barangays of Lubao, Macabebe, and Masantol towns.
