Chelsea Manalo on Handling Negative Comments Post-Coronation: ‘It Will Never Shake Me Down’

Staying Positive Amid Criticism

Chelsea Manalo, the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024, remains unfazed by negative comments following her recent victory. In her first media conference since the coronation, Chelsea emphasized her focus on positivity and support from loved ones.

Focus on Support Systems

“I really looked up to my parents and listened to them, and those close to me, because these are what really matter the most,” Chelsea stated, addressing the negativity. “I know that with these negative comments, it will bring people down, but it will never shake me down. It will never take my crown down.”

Message of Upliftment

Chelsea urged her detractors to uplift deserving candidates instead of spreading negativity. “I will always lift my head up, so I hope that instead of saying anything negative, people just uplift the candidates,” she added, looking forward to representing the Philippines in Mexico.

Overcoming Financial Challenges

Chelsea also shared a personal struggle, revealing that she nearly withdrew from the competition due to financial difficulties. “It really did put me at my most, and I was about to quit. But thank God, there are people who supported me to continue and push me further,” she said.
