Senator Bong Revilla to Undergo Surgery Following On-Set Injury

Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. has announced that he will undergo surgery due to an injury sustained while filming his latest movie, “Alyas Pogi.” During a Facebook live session, Revilla revealed that he tore his Achilles heel, with the injury being severe enough to necessitate surgical intervention.

The injury occurred on the first day of shooting, as Revilla performed a running scene. An MRI scan confirmed a 50% tear in his Achilles heel, leading his doctors to recommend surgery. Despite the setback, Revilla remains optimistic, although he acknowledged the challenges of aging, joking about how his speed in running led to the injury.

Recovery from the surgery is expected to take three to five months. Revilla, expressing his frustration and disappointment over the incident, has asked for prayers for a successful operation and a swift recovery.

The senator was joined in the livestream by his son, Cavite Representative Jolo Revilla, who also asked the public for their prayers and support. Further updates on Revilla’s condition will be provided after additional medical evaluations, including blood work to determine his readiness for surgery.
