The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) approved the ₱2 increase in the minimum fare for jeepneys across the country.

LTFRB met the decision on June 29 as multiple transport groups nationwide have long sought the fare hike.

Recently, LTFRB already approved a ₱1 increase in jeepney fares across Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa. The new provision means another additional ₱1, upping the total fair to ₱11. This entails a ₱2 increase in other regions.

LTFRB also approved to increase the minimum fare of modern jeepneys to ₱13.

Price increase is effective on July 1, 2022.
